FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION...

Here is a short summary of upcoming events:

  • Tricky Tray.  Our annual Tricky Tray fundraiser will be held at Maple Hill Elementary on Friday, 16 May.  This is our biggest fundraiser for the year.  We'll need cadets to help with soliciting and running the event itself.  Parents are always needed and families are encouraged to come and participate.
  • Military Ball.  Our annual Military Ball will be held on Friday, 6 June.  Be there or be square!
  • Change of command and end of year award ceremony.  The Change of command and year-end award ceremony, when we show the do-nothing class of 2014 the door, will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, 10 June.  Cadets are expected to attend , family and friends are welcome.
  • Leadership Academy applications are due on Tuesday, 22 April.  Late applications will not be accepted.  Grades may be an honest estimate.  PT scores are not required.
  • Billet applications are also due on 22 April.  Late submissions will not be accepted.
  • Summer work.  We will be working over the summer to ensure that we are ready for the start of the next school year.  As a junior or senior cadet for more information.
Here's a new cadet challenge:

You are sitting at your kitchen table staring at full salt and pepper shakers.  Since you are by nature an evil-doer, you take a teaspoon of pepper from the pepper shaker and put it into the salt shaker and mix it thoroughly.  You then take a teaspoon of this mix of mostly salt and some pepper and transfer it back over to the pepper shaker.

Assuming the pepper was thoroughly and uniformly mixed into the salt, that the starting amounts in both shakers were equal, and that the teaspoons were of equal amounts the question is this:  Is there more salt in the pepper shaker or pepper in the salt shaker?

For illustration only.  I grant that a teaspoon wouldn't fit.  Work with me...

CONGRATULATIONS, CADETS, ON AN OUTSTANDING INSPECTION!

On Thursday, 3 April, the cadets of Middletown High School completed their 28th annual inspection.  The inspection, a Navy mandate, covers management and administrative issues, but focuses on military smartness and drill.  This year's inspection was the best in recent memory.  Here are a few pictures:
