BILLET SELECTION PROCESS--LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

The memo describing the billet selection process we will conduct to select next year's leadership will be signed and posted on the bulletin board in the back of the classroom.  The memo will also be available on our unit website.  Interested?  Check it out.  Read it it carefully, and don't miss any due dates.  Selections will be based on your proven potential, your desires, and the needs of the unit.

Two Middie Bonus Points if you can identify this officer.

INSPECTION...TO BE CONTINUED

As you know, our inspection was truncated (look it up!) by testing and the snow delay.  Commander Hankins did visit, and did inspect our program, but did not inspect our cadets or witness our pass-in-review.  Since we are still required to complete these portions of our inspection, I am trying to arrange for a team from the NROTC unit at RPI to come down, do the inspection, and grade the pass-in-review.  This will probably occur in February.  Stay tuned.

THE TWIN CHALLENGE

Here's a new challenge that is fairly easy.  The twins are visible this week.  One is fainter than the other.  What's the story?  This challenge will end at 0730, Friday 18 January.

NEW CHALLENGE

Congratulations to Cadet Jewell who correctly answered the challenge with only a little help.  I will leave it unanswered here for those of you who might still be working.

It's been awhile since I posted a challenge, so here's one that is so easy even a knuckle draggin' boatswainsmate could get it:

Here is a series of numbers. What is the next number in the sequence?
1
11
21
1211
111221
312211
13112221

This challenge will end at 0730 Friday, 11 January.  The first cadet to submit the correct answer will win  a valuable prize.  Good luck.

A confused army cadet.

CONGRATULATIONS CADET JESSICA GLICKMAN!

Congratulations to Cadet Jessica Glickman who was just notified that she has been selected to receive a Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) scholarship.  The scholarship will pay 100% of tuition and academic fees, it will provide an allowance for books, and a stipend of $250 per month to live on.  Upon graduation from college, Jessica will be commissioned an ensign in the Navy and ordered to active duty.

Congratulations Jessica!
